Minimize health disparities that affect LGBTQ+ people with cancer through cancer awareness, cancer prevention, lodging, and after cancer treatment care.

Cancer is the second-leading cause of death worldwide.

DID YOU KNOW?

LGBTQ+ Cancer Facts

One in 6 LGBTQ+ adults, and 1 in 5 transgender adults specifically, avoid health care due to previous discrimination.

LGBTQ+ individuals with cancer are 3-6 times more likely to report high or very high distress levels.

LGBTQ+ individuals are vulnerable to cancer disparities due to higher prevalence of cancer risk factors, such as smoking, likely in part because of stress caused by systemic discrimination.

MAKE A DIFFERNCE.

A cancer diagnosis is terrifying, and it can be even more terrifying for a person who is part of an under-resourced or underrepresented population such as the LGBTQ+ community. LGBTQ+ people with cancer may hesitate to disclose their sexual orientation and gender identity to their health care provider because they are afraid of discrimination.

MAKE AN IMPACT.

To achieve our mission and make a difference, we aim to raise $100,000 annually.

These funds are crucial to the operation of Disrupt Cancer Now, as they enable us to create and implement structured programs that promote cancer equity, particularly in LGBTQ+ communities.

While the majority of grants focus on cancer research, our organization heavily relies on personal donations and sponsors to make a real impact.

Cancer may have started the fight, but we will finish it.
